New Dawn Labs, LLC believes there is a gap in the market between the services of typical hardware and software vendors and that of widely respected organizations such as the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) that can provide engineering support in applied research. New Dawn Labs provides software and hardware expertise that allows customers to scale up and out quickly and safely with experience professionals they can trust.
The New Dawn Labs vision is to create a platform that allows its users to collect, manage and visualize their data for their business process and equipment through modern methods and technology.
In 2010, The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) built one of the first plug-and-play open source systems for the DoD. After years of success integrating that framework on multiple platforms for multiple exercises, the US Army reclassified the technology as Distribution A, allowing it to be used by the public. The UDRI team was then able to take all lessons learned and create the Renaissance Industrial Internet of Things (RIIoT) platform. With help from UDRI, the RIIoT team architects birthed a spin-off company named New Dawn Labs; New Dawn believes there is no one-size-fits-all solution for leveraging technology for interoperability. Furthermore, a middleware layer that is protocol, data format, and vendor agnostic is a must-have. These are the strengths of New Dawn and RIIoT. The New Dawn team are experts in creating and building dynamic, lightweight middleware layers and standards. New Dawn has the expertise and skills to create the glue that ties existing sensors and systems together using open-source software and cutting-edge technology.
For a background perspective and to better understand New Dawn Labs’ past experience, below are examples of the work the New Dawn Labs’ founding members have performed during their tenure for UDRI.
The New Dawn Labs vision is to create a platform that allows its users to collect, manage and visualize their data for their business process and equipment through modern methods and technology. This will come to fruition by:
We’re becoming a regional leader in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) deployment, configuration, and integration for local manufacturers and facilities.
Growth outside of the Dayton region into a national presence that demonstrates the ingenuity and technology that comes out of UDRI and Dayton, across government and commercial markets.
Our Experience
Here are some examples of the work the New Dawn Labs’ founding members have performed during their tenure for UDRI.
Delivering high-quality production systems
We have a special relationship with the University of Dayton, which gives us a large development stack, backed by decades of success stories. We are focused on delivering high-quality production systems on time and on budget. When we add our world-class support and installation/manufacturing ability, we are truly the one-stop-shop for success.
RIIoT (Renaissance Industrial Internet of Things)
RIIoT seamlessly facilitates the secure exchange of data between all third-party sensors including: energy, lighting, water/plumbing, HVAC, fire safety, and security all while leveraging advanced digitization, big data, and machine learning capabilities.
Our software and hardware is designed to address the entire building ecosystem. With easy integration of devices (even most 3rd party), RIIoT delivers the performance and data-throughput needed for anything from one small building to a large, complex multi-site enterprise. RIIoT leverages advanced cyber-resilient systems and protocols to keep the entire system safe.
