I started my career doing web development for Java J2EE web applications that were tools overlaying an Oracle 10g database. Those applications used JSP/Servlets, Custom Tags, and Ajax technology.

Currently acting as a developer and team lead that drives technology and direction for several teams across several different platforms and languages.

I am a creative problem solver with over 23 years of computer science expertise. My career has seen me doing everything from writing code, designing IT infrastructure, to Cloud architecture and beyond. I am a hands-on developer and system architect experienced in both hardware and software system development. I am always looking at how to marry old and new to create a best-of-bread solution for each customer. My passion is helping understand and then overcome issues.

Driven and innovative computer science expert involved in creating cutting edge patentable technologies throughout my 30+ year professional career. I love spending time with my family and contributing to the community (church and boy scouts). I am blessed to have the opportunity to pursue my passion of developing new technologies while helping mold the next generation of software engineers at the the University of Dayton Research Institute.

Hondo Imwalle


Hondo Imwalle is the Senior Scrum Master (PMP, PSM I) of the Sensor and Software Systems (SaSS) Division at The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI), and a founding member of New Dawn Laboratories.  He has a proven track record of leadership from small teams to large groups. His extensive background includes working and managing advanced research and development projects with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and numerous commercial clients using the AGILE software development process.  He has also earned a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton.
