The SOSA Consortium is creating an open system reference architecture applicable to military and commercial sensor systems. The UDRI software team led the effort to write the SOSA data interaction implementation section of the specification. The team evaluated 3 software data interaction implementations (middleware architectures), COARPs msgUtils, OMG DDS profile, FACE TSS against SOSA defined architecture principles and software quality attributes. The UDRI software team was chosen because of their expertise with middleware frameworks
